I am a Family Doctor and Integrative Medicine specialist. I knew I wanted to be a doctor since I was a little girl and saw illness affect my family. I went into medicine to be a warrior in the battle my family had faced. After over a decade in practice, that vision has evolved into being a warrior for wellness for the people.
After medical school at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), I was excited to train in Family Medicine at the UCSF-Affiliated Sutter Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency program in Santa Rosa, CA, and have the breadth of training to know how to help any person or condition that might walk through my door, because that’s what family doctors do. However, I still felt something was missing. As a Native person (I am Ho-Chunk and White Earth Ojibwe from my mother’s side, Japanese from my father’s side), I knew there was more to medicine than what modern medicine could offer. Although I knew well how to diagnose and treat diseases, I wanted to know how to help people return to health and maintain wellness.
Through a fellowship in Integrative Medicine, I attended herbalism school and became a Clinical Herbalist. I received osteopathic mentorship and trainings, and became a practitioner of the hands-on bodywork practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), including Craniosacral Therapy. I became the first MD to certify in Strain-Counterstrain by the Jones Institute.
With this combination of training, I was properly equipped to practice medicine in a way that made sense to me—armed with the best of medicine, old and new.
It is an honor and privilege to be a physician and to practice medicine as a warrior for wellness. My work is in service of others, and I strive for every person I serve to experience dignity, respect, honor, and support to find the wellness they deserve.

My goal as a doctor is to understand what my patient is experiencing and use a natural approach to support their return to wellness.
Our bodies have a natural ability to heal and return to balance. The earth offers us medicines for healing such as food, water, and herbs.
Health is natural. It is in our nature to heal, and healing can be found in nature.
True wellness exists when there is a balance in the four realms of health—the mind, body, heart, and spirit. Wellness requires consistently attending to this balance and removing any barriers that might get in its way.
Wellness in my practice of medicine itself is only maintained through the balance of medicine and health for mind-body-heart-spirit (see below).
I look forward to working with you to support your journey to return to and maintain your natural health!
-
Mind: utilizing my knowledge of family medicine, herbal medicine, integrative and lifestyle medicine
Body: practicing Manual Medicine and Craniosacral Therapy
Heart: treating every person as I would want my own family treated—with dignity, respect, good listening, dedication and sincerity
Spirit: being indigenous and following my teachings, maintaining presence, and honoring the story and spirit of every individual

If you are trying to figure out if working with me sounds right for you, ask yourself these questions:
Do you want a doctor who:
>>Listens to your story to understand what you are going through?
>>Uses natural approaches to health?
>>Believes you when you tell them your experience, even if you don’t fit into a standard medical box?
>>Doesn’t rely only on prescription medications to help you?
>>Can treat pain naturally?
>>Meets you where you are at to support a healing plan that makes sense for your life?
Are you ready to:
>>Feel well again?
>>Understand your condition?
>>Manage your condition naturally?
>>Take manageable steps down a healing path?
>>Find balance for your mind-body-heart-spirit?
>>Not do it alone?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, you are meant to be a part of my healing community. I look forward to meeting you!
